VISION STATEMENT

Ask me what my vision is at any given time and it will depend on what series I am involved with, what medium I am working with, and maybe what mood I'm in. But one thing that remains the same throughout is that I love the process.  I love rolling on the ink, smering on the acrylic, swathing on the watercolor, dabbing on the oil paint, scratchin out a pencil or ink drawing, forming the clay, and bending the pastels to my style.  I always hope that the product will be as  interesting for the viewer as the process was for the artist.  Frm a distance, my work looks like a picture....step closer and you will see the process through the dabs and dots, strokes and spatters.  From a distance, you can decide what the work means to you.  Up close, you can see the process which I so much enjoyed.  When he chose "Carnival", for the Dallas Critiques Chice, juror James Surles noticed these qualities and stated that the "meaning was evident" when he stood back, and the "technical expertise was evident" when he stood close.
